Hey everyone... Anyone still around from years ago?? I joined back in 2005

Hi Everyone!

I have Ulcerative Colitis and have been suffering on and off for almost 10 years now. I haven't posted much lately because I've been feeling pretty good for the most part.. I am still in a mild flare and my life situation has changed so much since I first joined...

Things are great!! Just wanted to check in and see who's still around :D

I remember some of your posts over the last 4-5 years here. The last I remembered you'd gotten out of a bad relationship situation, moved to like Texas or something, and suddenly your symptoms were SO SO much better. I think that was you anyways!

Hey Susiebuddy, although I have brain fog and more of it as I get older with this DD, I remember you! Nice to see you back, glad you're doing great and that it's a minor flare you're going through that will soon become remission.

OH MY GOSH!!! It is SOOOO GOOD to see you guys!!! I have been doing really well with my life and yes, I was in a HORRID marriage and in a very bad way with my Ulcerative Colitis.... NOW.... I am definitely remarried to the man of my DREAMS.... **Quincy... he's my FRED***.... LOL... We've been together for 3 years now and married for just over 1 and he still treats me like a friggen princess if you can believe that!! I do spoil him rotten and it feels so good to even WANT to!! I'm really appreciating what I have now.... TRUST ME... ;)

I just can't tell you all how much it means to me that you remember me!!! :D :D :D

Yes, Y'ALL... I'm living in Texas now, just north of Houston in a TEENY LITTLE town called Richards. It's so great here and the economy is so good. My husband and I own a concrete contracting company together and we moved here because basically in 2008, California pretty much shut down as far as contracting of any kind was concerned and my poor hubby lost pretty much everything, business, house, EX wife...lol... SO, when we met, we decided that the best place to start over for both of us would be where the work is.. So we moved here and now we have so much work we can hardly keep up!! Been here two years now :D

As far as my health goes... I'm hanging in there! Unfortunately when I got my divorce, my ex was such a (well you know) that he dropped me from my health insurance so I haven't had any now for a few years... I've been getting by on meds that I had stocked up when I saw the end of my insurance coming.... My Doctor would prescribe me triple what I really needed and my insurance would pick up the bill, (Man I had the best insurance, although it wasn't that cheap) so I was able to stockpile a bunch of Asacol HD, Canasa, Xanax and Rowasa.... I have pretty much gone through it using what I needed when I'd flare up, but now the rest is basically expired so I'm afraid to use it now.

My Colitis is as I would say..... STABLE... but not in remission any longer, I have a feeling that I may have Pancolitis now. I do have pain throughout my Colon for the last year off and on, but mostly ON the last 2 or 3 months.. and I am passing some mucous and occasionally some blood, but mostly just have pain.. The majority of the pain is on the right side of my abdomen almost where you'd think your gallbladder is, but it's kind of spread out more than just the gallbladder area so the local doctor I see here in town (he's just a country doctor but he used to be chief of staff at some big hospital) he thinks it could be my colitis has spread... But anyway... I did have an ultrasound of my gallbladder about 7 months ago when I was having this pain a previous time for a few months and they said my gallbladder was "BEAUTIFUL"... LOL... ... I've lost 10 pounds but I am not THAT sick.. I can eat but I have to be very careful of what I put in my mouth.

I have been juicing every day to get my vitamins and that seems to be helping... I am TRYING to get signed up on OBAMACARE.... UGH... But heck after my premium and deducible cost, my insurance is going to be more expensive than what it was when I had my EXCELLENT insurance policy with my *CHOKE* ex... LOL...... I make too much money now to qualify for any subsidies, but that's ok... My sister just got diagnosed with Breast Cancer this week and she barely eeks out a living working in Michigan so the OBAMACARE is going to really be a blessing for her since she's on a low income she does qualify for a subsidy and it will pay for like 90 percent of her premium on one of the more expensive plans.

SO it all even's out I guess..... OK now for the HORSEY news..... I still have my wonderful Horse Andy.. I had actually sold him back to the girl I bought him from originally when I moved here 2 years ago... but she contacted me about 5 months later and asked me if I was in a position to take him back because she was going through some life changes and I had first dibs on buying him should the need arise for her to dos o... I actually was in a good position since I was living on a huge horse ranch, so I was THRILLED to buy him back and I had him shipped out here on one of those big horse hauling rigs... He had a huge box stall and it took 3 days to get him here... I have since picked up 2 more horses so now I have THREE! Also I'm really into chickens so I got about 100 of those lol... Since my hubby is a contractor he built me this pretty cute little chicken Hilton.. it looks kind of like a doll house, but not that fancy.. lol.. I love the fresh eggs we get every day and I enjoy giving them to friends, neighbors and my mail carrier.. :D

SO.. I think that just about get's me all caught up... WOW to think when I first joined this forum I owned an Art Gallery and now I am doing concrete... LOL.. how things change!!

Well I am back and I will be around more often.. especially now that the old Colon is giving me fits again, but I'm so glad to be here and to find you all still here as well!! It's like a family reunion and hearing from you all has really made my evening!!! XOXOXO

Hi! I remember you and also from your last check in. Glad life is going great...sorry that uc isn't. I hate this darn disease. Hope you can get the insurance thing going ASAP and get rid of this annoying flair. Welcome back!

I am so happy you were able to get your horse back + 2 new horses, the ranch sounds amazing. I've always wanted chickens :)

I take expired stuff all the time. I would imagine the biggest risk is that it's no longer effective. I haven't had any problems.

Have you tried to price out private health insurance through a broker? My insurance is private and it's less money and better coverage than the comparable Obamacare plan in New York.

Hi Susiebuddy! Sorry for the delayed response, I was off the forum for a few days and it's amazing how fast you get behind in just a few days. Really nice to see you again. Whenever I think of you, I think of that "little house" you loved so much but man that was a long time ago now. Looks like you have a completely new life now and sound sooooo happy! That was wonderful to read about all the great things you have going on. Hope you stick around or at least continue to visit here now and then. :)
