You would benefit by seeing if diet modification helped you. Fruits are very bad for my UC/IBS as well as oats. Not all veggies are good either.
Have you ever kept a food journal to see what symptoms you have based on what you ate?
Forget asking doctors, they have little training in diet and how it affects out guts.
And if my doctor ever made me think he didn't take me seriously (all in my head) I'd get another doctor pronto.
Common food problems are: wheat/gluten, dairy, sugars including fruit and high fructose corn syrup. It took me over a year to reduce my symptoms but what a difference it made for me. No bleeding in over 1.5 years, no gas, no urgency (unless I drink caffeine but I do love it).
If I can look up a couple IBS books I'll try to post them.
