Try lying down and massaging the length of your colon with the palm of your hand - gently pressing or rubbing in a circular motion along the upside down U shape of your colon - from the lower right, up to the transverse, across and then down the left side. I have found this to help the discomfort and move the gas along. Unfortunately, the only thing that ever helped stop the excessive gas was going into remission, otherwise I am full of gas half the day and night.
