I Have Graves Disease, Fibromyalgia, herniated disc. along with several back conditions (rear ended by a car last year too), restless leg syndrome and had blood clots in the lungs last year the doctors don't know why and am turning 51. I am taking 14 different pills a day one of them is prednisone and I am told it is the reason for my weight gain my thyroid is too large. I take 10 mg of prednisone for the last two years but so far as of today have gained 50 lbs. it makes me feel so unattractive not just to my spouse but to society period. I can not fit my clothes I just feel awful. For the last year I have scaled back all food. I have a protein shake in the morning only eat dinner and dessert, I watch portion control and have totally stopped eating out all together I cook all of my food and I have been on alli and garcina cambogina but nothing has stopped the weight gain. When I talk to my doctors about all of this I feel awful because they just tell me to be thankful to be alive, I have five doctors. They have tried tapering off the prednisone mg but even with that I still gain and my body falls apart. Is there anything I can do to lose the weight on prednisone. I feel like throwing my body off a bridge. I have a teen and she now has lots of school things but I am so embarrassed at how much I have gained and when you tell some people they don't believe you. Has anyone ever lost weight on prednisone and if so how do you do it? I appreciate anyone that can help me. Please respond someone.
