Hey T,
MAP is apparently extremely difficult to detect. Professor John Herman Taylor in the UK claims to have developed a test that will detect MAP in CD patients and that he is very close to a vaccine. He claims that 100% of people who have CD are are infected with MAP and that he believes it is causing the intestinal inflammation.
Here's his daughter's story who is trying to help him raise 100,000 pounds for the research team at King's College.

I do know Red Hill Biopharma's new drug had an amazing remission percentage-80% in a very small study. I think they are setting up a phase III study now. I wonder what the relationship is with MAP and UC. My CD tends to be more UC-like so I don't know if anti-MAP antibiotics would be effective for me. Plus, it seems a lot of the small bowel inflammation could be cause by the AIEC bacteria if you're looking for bacteria cause, so maybe MAP could be prevelent in UCers too, i dunno.
