Inducing a fever to stop UC/Crohn's - 45% success Rate

Hey I have been into all this stuff for 20 years, never tried it for UC,anyhow.

As opposed to UV lamp up your butt which would give your rectum a terrible sun burn, something a bit safer.

Violet ray makes lots of heat,it is a form of diathermy.

Or 405-406 nanometer laser pen will kill bugs but not give you a sun burn.

I have both.

The problem with using light is as soon as it is obstructed it wont get to anything behind it.

So heat is probably a better way.

Hot tubs and sauna, as long as you don't cook your brain.

@durango - Have you been in remission since? Or was it sort of a short lived thing?

It would be interesting to dig up some info on viral associations with IBD... I been looking it up/thinking about that in the back of my mind for some time now. Most viruses are limited and/or gain access via our mucus barriers and more so they are very specific to the areas in the body, i.e lungs, small intestine, large intestine etc etc.

What really got me thinking and pondering it hard was simply that there would be no detectable initial disbyosis.

All the same pathways on our immune cells seem to be responding to the same receptors as those that detect with viruses etc etc. We think of viruses as something like the flu which is super "catchy" but in reality there are lots of chronic viral infections that don't spread like the flu.

There's lots on Norovirus and Crohns now, but no so much on IBD in general. But I bet with some digging some compelling info could be found.

I can see this working, maybe not as a cure but definitely as a reliever.

When I was first diagnosed, I was a member at LA Fitness gym and the best part about that gym was the sauna and hot tub. Although, I personally wish that I could have my own hot tub to avoid all the chlorine they put to keep it clean. It burns the nostrils if you stay in too long. :( But anyways, I used to stay in those two areas and would help with my symptoms.

I got UC right smack dab in the middle of a hospital stay for what later turned out to be Mono (EBV). For about the first year I was convinced that it was the EBV that was responsible for my UC and found some science to back it up. After more research though and trying unsuccessfully to fight the EBV with supplements, I started leaning toward broad spectrum antibiotics as being the cause of my UC. There is a lot of evidence to back that up as well. They had given me these antibiotics to fight off the Mono symptoms in the hospital such as migraine headache with uncontrollable fever & sore throat. It wasn't until after I got out of the hospital that they figured out what was really wrong with me. Too late for my UC as I was already on the road.
