Colonoscopy with cold?

Has anyone had a colonoscopy when you had a cold? I'm supposed to have a colonoscopy on Friday... I've had this stupid thing scheduled for 3 months and would like to get it over with!! I started getting a sore throat today. Will they still do it?

I called the endoscopy center and the girl there (pretty sure she was not a nurse) thought I should reschedule.... My doc's nurse hasn't called me back yet.

Not sure if they'll want to sedate me with cold symptoms?

ya, I'm not sure I'd want to be full body shake sneezing with that so called "flexible" tube up my butt smhair

Lol! So far it's just a scratchy throat with a small headache... But I may reschedule just to be safe.

@ sherbear - That's true. I thought of that, but I feel more like I'm fighting a cold. I'm feeling pretty rundown.

I wouldn't reschedule. It's not worth waiting another few months because of a cold.

In my experience they'll sedate you no problem (registered nurse and I worked in L&D for many years). As long as you aren't taking a bunch of cold medicine.

Gargle some oil of oregano and that should nip it in the bud!

Thank you! I called the endoscopy center and spoke to a different lady. She said not to cancel unless I have a fever. I think I'll just do it and get it over with!
