A few days ago I stopped using IE due to warnings and have been using Google Chrome. It takes a little getting used to but is OK EXCEPT for some reason, with this website, the ads take forever to load and you can't see the rest of the page until the ads are done downloading. For instance, just making this post I had to wait forever for a scrolling ad to finish scrolling before I could see the rest of the page. I am starting to learn that if I just click on the X to stop loading the page then that will work but it gets irritating having to do this all the time and every time I click on a post or want to respond it happens all over again. I don't know why but this doesn't seem to happen on any other website I visit.

We tried Chrome very briefly - and it was on a Chromebook, which may have been the problem - it was so slow we ended up returning the Chromebook and getting another PC with IE. We're used to super-fast internet, and it just didn't make it for us.

Hello. It is probably programs on your computer that are slowing things down. If you go to the control panel then programs; look through to see if there is stuff in there that you don't use or need. This should make your computer faster.

Do you use Adblock? You shouldn't have to see any ads at all.

I know it's not the program thing as I keep them to a minimum and this problem only seems to happen on this website, no others. How do you get adblock? I do have popup blocker. IE worked well for me, no problems but have been worrying about the security thing.

This is strange Gary because I use Chrome and I know I have once upon a time experienced that problem... but no longer. I wish I could tell you why it stopped. I wonder if it has something to do with some other thing like java or Flash or one of those kinda things. Every once in a while one of those things "crashes" and I have all kinds of problems with ads loading.

I would suggest downloading the add on AdBlock and see if those problems continue to happen. I use Firefox so I have never encountered a problem like that. Even checking with Chrome, the issue didn't happen to me.

Firefox has been an OK alternative for us. And I was able to copy IE favorites into Firefox bookmarks.

AdBlock is an extension for Chrome browser.

On the Chrome menu (3 horiz lines icon), click Tools, Extensions. Then follow the 'Get more extensions' link. Search Adblock. Select the result with the most reviews, to avoid copycat extensions.

However, keep in mind that sites like this one are free for us to use because they are supported by ad revenue.
