Man Sues Docs for Mocking Him During Colonoscopy

I tend to think that this case is the exception rather than the norm. Certainly it is scary though, as who knows if it happened to you/I because we were knocked out at the time. Simple solution is if your worried, next time leave that fancy phone of yours in record mode, and take it with you for the procedure lol. I seem to remember having my things in a bag under the hospital bed they wheeled me in to the room with. Maybe policies vary hospital to hospital.

One would hope medical professionals would hold their standards and work ethic much higher than the average joe worker and refrain from it. We all either ourselves or know others who joke around and goof off at work, complain about annoying customers/clients, and crack a joke to make others smile. Certainly in a procedure like this, no one wants to be the butt of a joke (pun intended) as it is embarrassing enough as it is.

If you google "Dr. Tiffany", you'll see that she's an anesthesiologist. Has a lot of negative publicity on the internet. Well deserved if she did the things she's accused of.
The facility that is being sued sounds like low standards are tolerated. One of the other staff members allegedly touched the man's penis as well. Sounds like sexual assault to me.

When I had my last procedure (the polyp removal) I was very surprised and pleased when the assisting nurse was one of my former high school students, someone I could trust.

I told the young male anesthesiologist that I expected him to avoid texting while he was administering the propofol. Thinking I was joking, he pulled out his phone. I wasn't kidding!
You have to ask why he had taken a phone into surgery at all.

The only reason they use a anesthesiologist for colonoscopies in AZ is because the GI doesn't carry malpractice that covers administration of sedatives. The large practices don't use anesthesiologists. The GI does it. I had a colonoscopy with a doctor in solo practice scheduled at a outpatient surgery that hires the anesthesiologists. Had to cancel because I found out the DO the surgery center used did not contract with any insurance company I assume so they could balance bill people. My alternative is to run up a huge bill having it at a hospital. Guess on to doctor number 5.

Even if anesthesiology wasn't a goldmine they ought to pull Dr. Tiffany's license but you know they won't. I wonder how many daughters and mothers he pulled that unprofessional crap on.

There is no good reason that total sedation is used other than to speed up the procedure. Maybe they should require video tape of every colonscopy if the patient is not awake?
