mouth sores + constipation

I had a flare 3 weeks ago (constipation+blood) Increased my ASACOL supp dose to twice per day (morning and night), and continued my pentasa granules 2 g per day, so I started feeling better for 2 weeks before I had to travel for 12 hours. When I arrived, I started getting mouth ulcers and constipation again, and mucus.

I am using suppositories without emptying my bowel, is that okay? So basically Ill use the morning one and then again the night.

What can I do for my mouth sores, and is it related to UC?

I think the advice on the suppositories to empty bowels before use is there only to remind people that actually have to go to the bathroom.

For the mouth sores. I really like salt water rinses. Add a tsp or two of salt into a cup with warm water, then swish it around in your mouth for a while. I always adjust the the amount of salt depending on how big and bad the sores are. It may sting a little, but if it hurts, then I make a new batch with less salt. I do it 3-4 times a day. I'm not sure how much an official connection there has been made between mouth sores and UC, but I get them a lot and I think a lot of other people with the disease do as well.

I'm not sure how mouth ulcers and UC are connected, but everytime I go for a checkup with my doctor, he asks me if I have any mouth ulcers, so maybe you should talk to your doctor about it :)
