Lots in here may disagree but I believe coffee has helped me. At least it's helped me cope.
Here's how:
Every morning I make several cups of strong "low acid blend" coffee. Within fifteen minutes it kicks in and I pretty much empty out. It may continue for 30 minutes or so and then I'm good for the day. The benefit is how it makes me alert
and in a good mood at the same time!
Anyway, sometimes I follow up the above routine with a mesalmine enema (and I again empty out) or a Canasa suppository. I don't always empty out after the suppository.
In general, I'm good to go for the day. Empty and alert
