Entyvio Now Available

Thanks bania, looked it up. Almost all infusion centers near me are Cancer specialists. That was for Remicade. Kind of depressing. I will have to deal when the time comes.

that was the worst part for me, being there for about 3 hours, I agree that it was depressing but the nurses were truly wonderful people for which you have to be for a job like that. For a couple of hours of my time there I would need to take a nap from all Benadryl so it wasn't all that bad.

I had a discussion about it with the nurses and they told me that Fridays were the best days to have infusions because most Oncology patients did not have infusions that day. Just in case they had a reaction to the Chemo, most of the regular oncology doctors were off on Saturdays. So Mondays-Thursdays were the biggest days for Chemo infusions at the infusion center near me.

Just talked to my GI office today, they claimed that its still not available because the drug reps have not been to visit them to "sell it to them yet". Is this standard procedure or once the drug is available on the market should they be able to start prescribing. I really don't want for doc to passively be waiting to hear something if I could get this started sooner...

My insurance has approved it, my prescription has been called in to the specialty pharmacy and I am awaiting the call. Can't wait, been in a flare missing my life for almost a year now.

How frustrating, I'll give them one more day to get this figured out otherwise maybe I should be seeking out a different GI? I can't see any reason why I should have to wait around suffering when the drug is sitting there waiting to be prescribed and I've failed every other drug.

I put a call into my GI concerning this drug. Told them I would like to try it. Haven't heard back from them. Maybe he's not sure what the drug is all about. Waiting for the same drug rep for info as neekap's GI. LOL!

Is anyone actually having any good luck trying to get on entyvio soon? My GI wanted a flex sig first but his first opening wasn't until July 21st, when his office told me this I just about lost it on the poor lady dealing with me. So now I have a flex sig scheduled with a different GI in his office on July 3rd (not so happy to have my first meeting with a doctor be this!) and I'm on the waiting list hoping someone cancels. Also getting annoyed waiting on my insurance company. I think all this Prednisone is just making me crazy, but I was really hoping to get on entyvio by the end of the month which now seems impossible

I'm all set...scheduled to get my first infusion on Thursday! I'm excited...and kind of nervous because I literally have not left the house in a month and the doctor is over an hour away. I might up my pred to 40mg for the next few days (at 30 now) to try to get a little more stable just for that "trip"...

Ask your GI if it would be ok to take some Imodium for your trip.

Just had my GI appt today and he is starting the approval process for me. Hopefully will be getting my infusion within 2 weeks. I'm both excited and nervous!!
