Ok, so I know this is so weird! But, I've been in a pretty bad flare. Finally off predisone and hydrocortisone enema because I'm super sensitive to them! Ive been in Uceris for two days now. No maintence drug, GI waiting to see how I do with Uceris. And I'm allergic to mesalamine and don't tolerate Imuran well. Anyways... My colon has felt super itchy inside, hurts to lie on my tummy. Like a bad tummy ache. Could this be signs of healing? Whenever I heal from anything I always get itchy before it gets better. Anyone else experience this in their colon?

I don't know about
itching, I would say it sounds more like its aching, which would indicate inflammation rather than healing...or it could be the new drug, maybe, either way I would have thought if it doesn't ease up you need to speak with your GI.

What's the long term plan, assuming Uceris works? Most docs won't prescribe Uceris long term and you will surely relapse without meds during remission.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm. I wonder if your long term plan is Humira why the doctors didn't just put you on Humira instead of Uceris. They must have been thinking maybe that Uceris would work faster than Humira. I would think that if this was your gameplan they would have you doing both at once and hope the Humira works for remission once the Uceris is stopped.

Nope. My disease is minimal. On the rectum and small amount of sigmoid. He Does not want to put me on Humira if it can be treated with enemas. I'm a complicated case

Oh. I thought you said your long term plan was Humira.

Saw GI today. He said not until full colonoscopy on the 25th. To see what it looks like. So scared to go on Humira anyways! Seriously so many awful side effects

Trinity,
I've asked in a previous post if it could be possible that pain or tenderness could mean the colon was healing. Because, the blood and mucus had went away, but I had more pain or tenderness.
A member told me the pain was his first symptom when he flares and it also was his last symptom when the flare went a way. During the flare he had no pain. So maybe it's your case, let's hope so.
