a week with my new Ileostomy / no UC

Hey everyone! Just wanted to give ya'all an update since my Home Healthcare Nurse came over tonight.

She was wonderful! An RN and a WOCN :) Very easy going and positive, real. Genuine. LOVE people in the health industry like that :)

So my update is... im going good! My wounds are healing super. She says my staples are even ready to come out already!

As for Beefers? Perfect. Beautiful. A dream stoma! Yesss!
I feel so blessed. She said he's perfectly round, skin looks great, facing out properly... but of course he was SUPER sassy while we were changing my wafer/bag together. It wasn't too hard... despite my poop monster poopin constantly.

She also got me an immediate script for 100mg diflucan for 14 days as Im ravaged by yeast right now.

So basically im fighting some nausea/spins/migraines slightly, but mostly just sore. Things are settling into place. I def dont feel like UC felt like. But things at odd inside me for a few weeks while things figure themselves out inside me!

So happy and proud of you! Just looked at your Twitter, and it's inspiring. Wonderful news on your stoma! Just take her easy, m'dear. :-)

Do you have anything planned post-UC? I must say, I'm kind of jealous you have UC swag. I need to get some.

...And did I really see a picture of goats with coats on them?

Post UC plans are just getting back to life.
definitely want to continue advocating and educating about IBD.

I ordered a bunch of swag before surgery. I wear it every time I leave the house now! And have two more shirts coming.

Im excited to get back to school. Hopefully in the Spring. Human Services Bachelor's Degree. And also keep working on my house we got in September. :)

I haven't been on HW much for a while, just a little here and there, so I missed any posts about you going in for surgery and I just wanted to say I'm so happy that things went well and continue to!

Katie,

I want to thank you, for sharing so generously your experience with UC and the surgery.

I have been reading your post since I have been on this forum. I find you are such a brave and generous person.

I'm not going through difficult times nearly has hard has you have been. But I have been worrying about what surprises UC could send me later in my life. By Reading you posts I found an example of strength that made me more confident that one can over come the difficulties of UC.

Thank you again for sharing and hope you keep still going up the hill as nicely as possible.
