Hi Rob,
I've had some luck during bad flares of going on a juice diet. A friend only drank juice for a month and has been in remission with no meds for about 3 years. I did not go that extreme, but had 2-3 large fresh juices/day in addition to 'simple' foods (few ingredients, no spices, etc.) and it seems to have helped me. I am still on medication, but a month ago my doctor was sure I needed biologics and now we're talking about tapering my medications.
Eating simple foods has also helped me figure out what bothers me. Slowly expanding your diet makes it easy to notice differences in how you feel and what could have triggered it. For instance, in my case, for some weird reason tomato + mozzarella make my insides very unhappy, though eating them individually is totally fine.
Good luck!
Thanks for that - Actually, we juiced for one week straight to give my intestines a complete rest and now we juice our breakfast only. But I felt great when I was juicing alone. I have thought about
going back to that for a week or so.
Any particular juices that you like especially?
I'm also trying to stick with mainly simple foods and then adding in things as I go along. I'm not yet good at determining what makes things worse - it just seems to be bad without any real good reason!
