If I have to use them for anything, what ones would be the best? Augmentin kills my stomach.. I've got a pimple on my face which has gotten very imflammed.. Dr wanted to give me antibiotics but I said I'd give it a few days.. It's not red, my glads aren't swollen..

Cipro (any of the fluoroquinolones) seems to be the least stomach damaging to me always, and most broad spectrum.

no....that's one that will rip your gut apart though. They use it for C-diff.

Yes I've been on it, lasted one day, it caused profuse sweats and body aches.. I stopped straight away

I think everyone is different on those and even in the same person you might be able to tolerate one antibiotic at one point in your disease and not in another. I am actually on Augmentin right now for strep throat. It has made my disease a little topsy turvey, having both good and bad days - which is better than I expected. Taking increased probitoics at the time helps.

Gary my trouble with augmentin didn't start until I finished the whole coarse.. Then it hit me.. Gastritis, horrible burning in my stomach which landed me in hospital and prescribed more medication which caused whole other problems.. It lasted months before the gastritis stopped and my stomach lining healed. I've had months and months of gas and bloating I never had Prior.

Uh Oh. I did do a course of Amoxicillan a couple of months ago with few problems.

Try a topical such as Metrogel or Fucidin.

I would def try a topical in this situation and see if you can avoid systemic if possible.
