Biologics with Benadryl?

I've seen it mentioned in here a lot that some people take Benadryl while on biologics. I've had an overactive immune system for as long as I can remember. I'm wondering if trying the Benadryl would help me with biologics. I tried Humira. The only difference I felt was a few days after my loading dose things seemed to be getting better. That lasted about a week and then for 3 months never felt any change after the subsequent injections. I am going to be starting Simponi tomorrow. Do the people that do this take Benadryl nightly or just when they do the injections?

No, immunosuppressive meds (6mp, imuran, aza) reduce the odds of antibody buildup.

6mp is a standard uc medication. White blood cells are the attack dog of the immune system, sent to infected areas of the body. White blood cells cause inflammation. 6mp reduces one's white blood cell count, so less uc inflammation is caused in the body.

Some use 6mp with 5asas (asacol hd) and that's enough to keep their uc in check. Others, like me, need 6mp and remi to keep things in check.

Remicade's effectiveness can decline over time if antibodies are made by your body. As I said before, suppressing the immune system helps reduce the odds of that.
