Remicade tiredness after infusion?

Hi,

Just had my 2nd infusion this am, and of course the benadryl is one thing, but I still felt (and feel) a bit groggy even hours later. Dont think this happened the first time. IS this common/normal?
Just wondering if Im still feeling the benadryl of a common day -of side of remicade.

I'm usually tired the day of the infusion but the next day I'm normally fine. I get Benedryl too btw.

I recall taking naps after my infusions, so I don't think it's uncommon.

Later in the day of my infusion, I'm VERY tired. If my infusion is done around 11am, the fatigue usually hits me late afternoon--sometimes in the evening. I doubt it's the Benadryl, since I don't feel tired until hours have gone by.

I've only had two infusions too, and I was very tired and groggy after the second. I got it about 11am and had a nap that afternoon at about 4pm. I was pretty much back to normal the day after (which is always exhausted anyway!). I get an antihistamine too (Piriton), which made me feel sleepy during the infusion also.

I wonder if you could switch to a non drowsy antihistamine and see if it helps at all.

Yes it is very common. I usually was tired for the day of infusion and the day after. Although I needed lots of Benadryl because I always got reactions during infusion. Oh and I always had restless legs for at least 2 days after, the worst!!

At first, I would feel more tired than normal for a couple days. 16 months in, and the tiredness only lasts the day of, if that. I usually feel best 1-2 days after the infusion.

It's the Remicade infusion itself making you feel tired.....not just the Benedryl. I would be totally wiped for a day and a half after an infusion long after the benedryl wore off. It's normal...not everyone feels that way though.
