Uceris have you taken for awhile? If it was successful, for how long?

You could always try another 5ASA drug. However if you are are starting to flare after four months of Uceris, 5ASA and enemas you could possibly try another class of meds.

I was put into remission from Imuran for 9 months. Now I'm on Humira. I feel like it's given me my life back. You just need to be mindful of side effects.

I'm glad that Humira working out for you so far, but it's Only been a few weeks since July 30th when you started.
Of course that can seem like a life line when you are suffering like we do.
Are you experiencing side effects, and how was your experience regarding side effects with Imuran?

I was on uceris for 2months and didn't notice anything. Doctor put me on prednisone about a week and a half ago. Still waiting on change. I hope you see some positive change soon!
So far 30mg of prednisone hasn't had any noticeable effects on me. First few days, I felt wired and hungry, and now I just feel my normal self.

That gives me some insight. Your right about finding the "right cocktail". Problem is you think you find something that works, than you get shut down and your own body betrays you!
I know I sound "winey" but it's so mentally draining as we all know.
I don't want to take Pred. I will stick to Uceris/mesalamine/Apriso for 3 weeks until I see doc with a nice typed note of questions from what I am learning here as options.
Not so sickly girl, I hope that's true! That you ARE not so sickly!
It looks like Uceris is just what it's described as. Just a nice temp band aide to cover the boo boo for a couple of months. Just long enough to stop the symptoms and give us a rest and some time to figure out what's next.
Has any one here been on the SCD DIET as a Very serious program?
Have you followed it religiously for a period of time with positive results?
I have made my own yogurt, given up flour, milk, sugar for periods of time but I still had symptoms. Maybe I didn't exactly follow it for a long period of time! I hope I'm not sabotaging myself!

Gary I know the doctors are rather robotic and blasse while we are pooping our brains out, bleeding, cramping
sometimes it's pretty maddening.
My doctor is thought of very highly here in San Diego,yet some times I'd like to wring his neck!
I think because they can't give us any real answers, they actually began to sound condescending and dismissive.
Thank God I have this place to come to . It truly puts a perspective on the situation because we are the real deal, very personally involved!

So true...at least they are open to suggestion. My doc had me bring in a copy of the SCD Diet for his other interested patients.
I'm going to NY for a month in Sept. Hope I can enjoy my trip.
I bought trip nsurance just in case!

Bentyl sometimes helps with the cramping. Pack some immodium too. It's ok to use short term as long as you know you do not have c- diff or other infections. Hope you have a happy vacation. Best

pltt19 been reading up on Uceris again and feel your pain. I have a trip planned for CO in two weeks and am poo poo city again! Waaah! Was able to get out of a flare last year thanks to Uceris, SCD AND FT from my spouse. Mostly stayed on SCD and was fine. Everything fell apart in early August when I went to PANDA EXPRESS (UGGGH!) and ordered white rice and green beans with chicken. Within an hour I felt the familiar pangs in my stomach and had urgent D an hour later.
A week later I went to my General Practitioner to get on Depression meds and within a day my BM's had gotten even worse - was like a faucet turned on high coming out! I called my MD and she suggested I continue taking the anti-depression drugs unless the D was too severe. I told her that I could barely leave the house without having to go, so they agreed I should quit.
Yesterday I decided to put myself back on Uceris. AND Probiotic pills (have you tried those?) I also have Pred. AND Asacol HD if I really need it but that is a true last resort. Yes I know some on here (who only do what their Dr. tells them too) will disagree with my decision to do this, but I don't feel like wasting a bunch of time and $ to having my GI tell me to go back on the same drugs I already have stockpiled in my cabinet. After a while you realize they don't know what to do with you either.
My spouse thinks I should do FT again but I'm going to wait a few days and see what happens. Also, going to go sit in my Dry Sauna that seems to help too.

I took anxiety pills also..what a crock!
Of course we have anxiety with all the pooping, cramps,and bleeding. I stopped them also as I feel they were contributing to my diarehea also.
Yes, I take probiotics. I tried Panda in "A stupid weak moment" also.
If I ever have one of those cookies from the SCD Breaking The Viscious Cycle book again, it will be too soon! It was so bad, it drove me Panda express. And I might add, I'm not loving the SCD yogurt
But you can bet I'm eating it up,praying the "good bacteria" is helping my gut.
Today I threw the yogurt, a very ripe banana , and some frozen peaches, stevia in a blender for a very delicious smoothie!

If you think those cookies are bad, you should try that cheese bread!
If you don't eat it ( it's horrible) you can at least use it as a weapon.

The banana/egg pancake is not so bad but when I flip it, it falls apart. That's why we went to Panda! Out of a sick desperation of rebellion. Lol that didn't work out for us either!
I stilll have all that almond flour also. It's too coarse and heavy
I'll tell you what I did make that turned out pretty good.
I made cashew flour and made muffins from the honey, eggs, cashew flour and although it did not rise it was pretty tasty.
Now with all those nuts, I'm turning into a porker.
Don't have to worry about that too much. I have already started losing thie weight with this new cramp/ blood/ diarehea bout.

We have a rental house for a month. We will be buying the bulk of our food from the store,with occasional dinners out.
I'm going to buy a cooler for day trips.
Carrot sticks, unsweetened applesauce, almond pacs, sesame seed mixture, tangerines, apples, you know the drill!
Eating out, salmon, chicken, maybe a little beef, NO SAUCES, salads with dressing on the side. Can't afford a self induced flare.
On plane, unsweetened applesauce cup, banana, maybe a Nature Valley bar if I'm starved.
