Contact with farm animals in early life and juvenile inflammatory bowel disease:case-control study

It may be true that exposure to cattle, hogs, chickens, and other livestock helps build an 'immunity' to chrons and UC. However, once an individual is exposed to critical triggers, the benefits of a pastoral childhood no longer help. I was raised around dairy and beef cattle, drank unpasteurized milk, crawled through chicken houses before I could walk, and had a genuine dirty and rustic childhood. My UC was triggered by antibiotics when I was in my 50s at which point the balance of my system collapsed.

I would like to see a study that attempts to restart the benefits of an early exposure to animals and their bacteria. My recent attempts working around livestock hasn't helped me a bit. Perhaps I need to be less of a finicky adult.
