stool samples

Hello again,

I have spoken with my IBD nurse today and she has asked me to take in a stool sample tomorrow.

Now I have just picked up the pots from my GP and thought how the heck am I going to poop in these LOL. then on further inspection I see there is a spoon like instrument in the lid.

having never done this before what is the best way to take the sample.

All advice greatly received as I need to take these in tomorrow

I think the spoon is for the laboratory assistant to use to scoop out a small bit of pooo to analyse but then I may have that all wrong!

I wrapped toilet roll around the plastic container, just in case, and then it was a balancing act over the toilet to get my sample...it is a bit tricky but doable.

When I did that stool test, they gave me a brand new paint bucket (which really blew my mind) anyway, I just put it right in the toilet bowl cuz it fit, and I did my pooping in it then I put the seat down and would go pee in my other bathroom...the bucket did rust the inside of my toilet a bit but it was easy enough to get it clean.
