I really don't like this idea that medications would have helped her stay in remission.
People still flare up with or without meds, so it's hard to say what caused it... but we all know stress is unarguably the number one contributor in causing flares, by far.
There was also a study that questioned the efficacy of medications (5asas in particular) in maintaining remission for long periods of time. Keep in mind that this applied to people who were in remission.
I wouldn't hesitate to get off medications if I stayed asymptomatic for that long of a time (4+ years) because the studies would back it up.
Thanks for this feedback. Feels very validating for my experience. I do understand maintanance meds but something just doesn't seem right about
medicating when okay. I do appreciate also the concern of needing to go on more intense meds.
I also appreciate the information on studies on both ends of this issue. (really no pun was intended)
Namaste.
Oh- I have been amping up my meditations and radical acceptance of all this.
One more thing. Any teas that you all like when in a flare?
