Simponi Shots Every 2 Weeks?

Hello Everyone,

I'm currently in a flare, have been for 3-4 months. Started on Simponi 3 months ago. I have been weening off prednisone, down to 5mg and stopping completely tomorrow. Anyways this last time I had my simponi injection I thought I was finally in remission. For 2 weeks I felt normal. 1-2 bm's a day...no blood nothing. Then after 2 weeks symptoms began returning. Scottz has posted here that it took him really 6 months to get in to remission with Simponi. I called my GI to ask for Uceris until my next shot and he mentioned maybe going to a shot every 2 weeks? I have never heard of that with Simponi. Has anyone else?

I haven't. It simponi is pretty new and I am sure we will have more people using it more often. I've seen a lot of people doing humira more often then it was originally prescribed. I tried simponi but I didn't wait six months, at the same time, in my case, i didn't get two weeks of relief, I didn't get any. Perhaps I wS just too flared up...or perhaps I wedding respond at all.

Maybe I have an accelerated and unrealistic time scale. However Simponi was approved in 2009. I hardly call it new or cutting edge. That being said my insurance company requires me to reject Humaria prior to approving Simponi.

It is possible the drug just is not working for you. Immuran does not work for me. Neither does Uceris. I am glad they are available and are options for people. They are just not opitions for me.
