Hey folks--question for all of you on Remicade:
Had some blood work done before my last Remicade infusion two weeks ago to see if I had below a therapeutic level on my Remicade since I wasn't quite making it to 8 full weeks (making it to 6-7 weeks between infusions). They upped my dosage from 5 mg/kg to 10 mg/kg two weeks ago and ran the tests to see what was going on.
I got a call from my GI doc today and she said that in my blood work they found a small amount of Remicade and a small amount of antibodies. She said the amount of antibodies that they found were small and could be "nonspecific." She said that they would keep me on Remicade at 10 mg/kg every 8 weeks and see how I did, but since she just left a voicemail I was unable to ask her any questions and she's out through the end of the week now.
My question for you is--have any of you been on Remicade and had something similar to this happen to you? Have you been able to stay on Remicade and maintain this "low level" of antibodies or has it just gotten progressively worse?
I had my last infusion 2 weeks ago and I feel fine. No symptoms. I'm just panicking thinking about how if Remicade stops working, my next step is surgery. Would love some guidance and support.
