If you feel fine, and you aren't losing weight, and your appetite is normal, then don't worry. Your digestive process can still be disordered from whatever you had two weeks ago. Make sure to follow a healthy diet now; you might still want to limit raw veggies and milk until your stomach stops gurgling. I'd be focused on getting some good probiotics in live culture yogurt and honest-to-goodness fermented pickles, for example (not the ones brined in vinegar).
There is no emergency. Keep watching your stool for blood. If it persists, you can talk to your DR in January about next steps.
Thanks for the reply. I've pretty much omitted dairy from my diet and I'm limiting raw veggies. I've also gotten some yogurt into my diet everyday.
In your opinion, do you think that its just my irritated bowel, or is UC a growing possibility at this point? I can still see a tiny bit of blood in my stool, as well as some mucus. I guess none of these two things are really that new though. Aside from these two things in my stool as well as my constant stomach growling I feel great. The constipation is going away and I haven't seen any diarrhea in weeks. If my stomach wasn't growling the way it is now, I doubt I would be paying attention to my stool enough to even notice the blood and mucus. The urgency to go to the bathroom I hear is also associated with UC isn't showing up for me. I've hung out with friends for an entire day with no need to go to the bathroom. Although I feel fine, these symptoms do concern me a bit. Do some of you guys with UC experience on and off symptoms like me?
I know I haven't been diagnosed with UC yet, and don't really belong on these forums, but for some reason I find a lot of comfort in talking to people who have experience with the condition.
