Well i'm fourteen I just got diagnosed with Pancolitis mild to moderate and everything i have researched has put a lot of stress on me and i was hoping someone could shed some light on my current situation. i see people do the info list thing so ima do that

Ulcerative Colitis- Pancolitis mild to moderate
14 Male
Currently on 20 mg of prednisone and going to be on imuran sooooooon
tried 5-Asa and nearly died....fun fun fun

HALP MEH PLS KIND PEEPS

Nugget, lol. It's ok, we like a lil fun too. Mostly this is tuff stuff for all of us. Keep reading on this site, ask lots of questions at the docs, have your mom/ dad with you to assist, involve your schools social workers if you start missing class or assignments so you are protected, get any live vaccines you need before the immunsuppression, and most of all stay connected to your friends and family. You might respond well and be just fine as long as you take some meds everyday. Keep reaching out, it's good for you.

I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis when I was 8 - I didn't last long before surgery a few months later and then I had a permanent ileostomy. I don't know much about Pancolitis. What are you dealing with now? I didn't mind my surgery - I was pretty young and ready to roll if it meant I could get back to what kids do - playing and eating whatever I wanted without pain and medicines. Stay positive - I was shocked to learn how many people deal with our stuff, too. I heard 45,000 people a year get ostomies. I was allergic to sulfa drugs so the Azulfadine I was given to treat it back in 1971 darn near killed me before they knew why I was spiraling downhill fast. Treatments have come a long way, as well as physicians more familiar with our brand of diseases. Best to you and let us know how you're doing.
