I've added nopal extract from planetary herbals to my regimen. I saw a fair improvement.

I've been drinking home made nopal water for 2 months and am doing really well. I have my fingers crossed that the blood is finally gone for good -- it's been over a week since I saw even a faint trace. I have a colonoscopy scheduled in May so hoping everything is completely healed and I get a good report.
I usually get pads that are already cleaned, but last week they only had the pads with all the thorns on them. I used leather work gloves to handle them to avoid getting stuck with a spine. They were cheaper than the cleaned ones, but I sure hope they have cleaned ones this week! Definitely worth the extra price -- 2.99/pound vs 1.99/pound for the uncleaned ones. A pound lasts me 2 weeks so it's still pretty cheap. At $6.month it's the cheapest supplement I use!
It's not a miracle cure, but after having very soft stools (up to 5x/day) and seeing a good bit of blood since June 2014, nopal was just the boost I needed to get me this far along with my Asacol HD. It's taken a while, but I am glad I stuck with it and kept drinking it.

It made a big difference in my daily regiment, too. I'd go multiple times in the morning and after starting Nopal, it dropped to one when I woke up and another small one after having caffeine. This is/was true even after stopping for a few weeks. It was the first time for as long as I can remember I've only went once or twice in the morning. It also made a big difference throughout the day. At times, I would only go in the mornings - that's at least six times less than what was my norm. Additionally, it reduced the time to go by 90%.
I have changed my diet quite a bit - eating more raw, juicing with a juicer (not naked juice or store bought stuff), and a lot less eating at restaurants, so maybe it's a bit of everything. But, the drop in times going #2 and the time spent on the toilet was reduced post-Nopal (PN?).
Good luck!

Hi guys! Do you strain it the next day after it sits overnight?
Just had a glass, not as bad as last time, but really don't want it to get any thicker.
Can you mix it with juice?

I just got back from Mexico for vacation....was worried as I could not bring my no pal juice with me....but every day at resort they had blended fresh no pal juice. I was thrilled....and my update is I am still in remission.
