Yep, I have it. I woke up out of a dead sleep at 3am feeling strong abdominal pains, went to the toilet and I started having diarrhea and vomiting in the trash can. It only happened once so I tried to go back to sleep. The pains became worse as well as the nausea. I almost NEVER vomit.
So then I get up, this time my hubby gets up too and he starts vomiting as well.
His goes away, but mine doesn't. So my hubby drove me to the ER...the whole time my gut was a 9 on the pain scale, nausea was horrible and I'm bawling my eyes out.
They hooked me up to an IV, gave me saline, drew some blood, gave me Zofran, some sort of antibiotic, and Fentanyl. Turns out my wbc was elevated, my heart racing at 120, and I was slightly dehydrated.
They almost admitted me but because the meds were making me feel better., they didn't But now I'm questioning that decision. They sent me home with Zofran, Cipro and Norco. But my abdominal pain is still coming in waves. Not as bad so perhaps I just need to give it time.
The last time I had food poisoning was when that was the trigger for my UC 22 years ago. I sincerely hope this doesn't take me out of remission
