How long does Uceris take to work?

Hi everyone!

Been in an active flare since early January. This seems to be taking forever to get resolved. So after about 3-4 weeks of Cort enemas, my doctor said I was not improving fast enough. I think it helped some days, and other days I'd feel like nothing had changed. about 3 weeks into my Cort enemas, I started developing diarrhea and had cramping (new fun symptoms!).

So now I have been on Uceris for 2 full weeks and I have definitely improved. Much less bleeding, much less diarrhea, much less cramping. All good stuff! But I am STILL not 100% better. Still having occasional urgency. I get the occasional cramping after eating, but the feeling passes relatively quickly (before once the cramping started, I NEEDED to get to the bathroom asap).

My prescription is for 8 weeks so I know I shouldn't get ahead of myself. I just thought I'd be feeling the joy of near-remission by now. And unfortunately, even tho much progress has been made, I'm still not "normal". How long did it take peeps to feel normal (if ever) on Uceris? Thanks!

I think 4x the Lialda is the max? I have a doctor's appt on May 8th with my GI so maybe I can discuss it with her. I'm really hoping that if I give the Uceris enough time it will make me better.

I just started Uceris last week and asked my doctor how long it should take before showing signs and he said 2 weeks is normal before it starts kicking in.

I think it took almost a full month before all my symptoms were gone the first time I took it. I did take the full 8 weeks to make sure. When I had my 2nd flare about 6 months later it never fully cleared everything, though it did help lessen the symptoms.
