the risk of fibromyalgia and blood clots?

I can't seem to find the statisics for it but my muscles HURT.
My sister and grandmother both have fibromyalgia.
Not much history on blood clots but I was told that it is a possibility.
I really hope this is just another symptom of a flare and not another disease or something like that.

But I heard they all can go hand in hand. A lot of people get a cluster of autoimmune diseases.

Does anyone else suffer from muscle ache and pain due to uc or did it end up being something like fibromyalgia?

Extraintestinal complications (that is other autoimmune issues) occur in approximately 20-25% of patients with IBD. Additionally autoimmune disorders come with time, not all at once. I got eczema after 3 years of uc (psoriasis is a similar autoimmune skin issue), others get other things.

Yes, we're at increased risk of blood clots compared to the average person, I've heard it from several nurses, although not the exact odds. Osteoporosis is more common from repeated steroid use. Eye troubles are more common as well. All under the same context, at increased risk compared to the average healthy person; not everyone with uc gets them.

In the last 12 months I've had two DVTs (both back of calf) and twice been admitted with bilateral pulmonary emboli (multiple blood clots on both lungs). Yes chance is increased with IBD - I have no family history of clots ... Problem I find it's easy to confuse out of breath as a result of anaemia with PE symptons. I now inject daily blood thinners for life which brings problems when you have a flare as thinners = major bleed and need for transfusions.

My advice is don't worry but be aware. If ever in doubt about a clot go to hospital ASAP.

I've had 2 clots in the last year but found out that I have Factor V Leiden. They were both after being hospitalized.

I get a ton of joint pain. Especially in my right elbow area and my hands and knees. I'm going to need to bite the bullet and see a rheumy soon.

When I've had DVTs there has been a full ache in my calf muscle but nothing major. As an aside (and my doc says as a result of muscle waste made worse due to pred) I have major muscle pain in my thighs and upper arms. But nothing I can do apparently except try and build them up and hope it goes.

I don't usually get muscle pain with a flare, however I do have Fibro. I was diagnosed by a rheumatologist about 5 years ago. As far as I know, fibro is not an AI condition. But I do have Psoriasis which is.

Never had a blood clot tho.
