I've done a search and there are some old posts about AMP but I was curious if anyone has any recent experience? I want to state upfront I don't think its a cure otherwise everyone would be taking it right. But can it help manage for some people?
I've been on digestionol which is like floracel for about 4 years off and on but mostly on.
I've had times when I think it really helps, then I've had times when I've thought it didn't and went off it. Then I've had times like now during flare when I take high dosage & am too scared to stop it just in case! I definitely notice better immunity with it, rarely get sick, had 3 people all get highly contagious stomach virus in my house and I didn't, regulates my blood sugar/cravings reduce. But all that aside I'm of course taking it for UC.
Fundamentally it seems to make sense - Colitis is an inflammatory disease and Aloe Vera (in the right form) is a good anti inflammatory. But one thing I struggle with is its also said to help people with constipation etc. which is of course the opposite problem to me. They say this is because its all about helping to rebalance. But then with UC its not just like our bodies are out of balance, this is a disease.
Urgh I don't know I'm confused & just curious to hear others experiences, at $200 a bottle its not cheap, but part of me is scared to stop in case. I've got no issue spending $ on something if it really does help.
I also take a probiotic. And currently also on mesalazine. Overall I consider myself 'lucky' re UC considering I don't regularly take meds (which I know is bad & I'm trying to come to terms with taking them more regularly) and when I do I respond quite well to them. I feel like it mostly presents as IBS, urgency and freq in morning. I had IBS before it changed and then got diagnosed with IBD. But then of course there are times like now during proper flare where its blood, mucous, urgency, frequency and the odd accident where I don't feel quite so lucky.
