You could ask your doctor about an alternative rectal steroid medication. My insurance only covered a fraction of Cortifoam so the alternative my doctor prescribed was generic hydrocortisone enemas.

I've used Cortifoam before and also had issues dispensing correctly. I think the enemas are easier in this regard because they are individual bottles.

Sadly, all foam is on some sort of short supply that isn't expected to be corrected until July. It's so frustrating, bad enough having this illness but worse when you can't get something to help. here in the US, as far as I've seen, there is only Cortifoam and Uceris foam (uceris foam was recently approved but seems like it was never actually sold because of production issues). You will have to try to make due with the hydrocort enemas and supps. I know how hard it is because enemas can be much more difficult to retain... I hate that applicator too. It's rough and it's kind of gross to reuse it. The enemas are better but harder to retain. Sometimes I won't use the whole bottle if I am having trouble.

I do not know but they definitely have some foam available. We have some UK members, hopefully they see this. I am sure your insurance won't cover it but sometimes the prices are more reasonable outside of the country, especially if it's generic. Good luck!
