I've been on Humira for a little over two months now. At around a month in I started having severe joint pain i.e. lower back and neck where I had previously had only minor pain. It seems to be getting worse daily. Anyone else experience this?

I developed severe muscle/joint pain after 6 months on Humira; turned out to be drug-induced lupus.

You might want to get a blood test to check your ANA.

Let your GI know of any changes especially while you're on Humira...keeping fingers crossed it's not Humira related and you quickly get relief from what's going on with your back and neck.

People definitely get symptoms like you're describing from anti-TNF's like Humira and Remicade.

about 5-6 months after starting Remicade I got awful pains moving around my body, and horrid joint pains in my elbows and knees when doing strength exercises like bench press, squats, shoveling, riding a bike, etc...

Almost all accounts I've heard of have had the pains go away after they stop the biologic. Mine have stayed around, so I am not yet sure if I can attribute them to Remicade. Going to Mayo this summer to ask around and see what they think.

Like others said; get tested for the ANA's that come about from drug induced Lupus. I did not show those when tested a couple months after stopping Remicade. I also did not show antibody buildup to Remicade either.

Thanks for the feedback. I have a consult at my GIs office day after tomorrow upon his request. Getting me in that quickly tells me he's taking this seriously and he's on top of it. If he doesn't bring up ANA testing I certainly will.
