I started the Remi in 2011 and stayed with it til 2014. My iron and vitamins and mineral levels have remained normal, before, during, and after. I realize the increased heart rate may affect a very small percentage of people on Remi, but I am not the only one reporting it. Nothing really changed in my lifestyle otherwise before or after.
Increased resting heart rate is an independent risk factor for mortality over the next 10 years by nearly two-fold. Gastro docs will of course do what it takes to address the Crohn's, I understand this.
I will start the Remi again next week and see what happens. I had some healing of the mucosa in my small intestine, but never achieved full remission. It also began to lose effectiveness in my opinion. Not sure why he won't let me try Humira or Entyvio. Remi is the first and only drug I've been put on since I came out of remission in 2010. Before that, 25 years of remission with zero meds.
