I have controlled proctitis. No blood, no d.
I have a weird feeling on my lower left abdomen. There is no pain. It just feels like something is there . I have felt it for the past few days. I was on vacation last week and ate a lot of food that I am not used to like ice cream and red meat. I am wondering if it's that. Does anyone have any advice? It's weird because it does hurt at all.

This is my first post here, because I'm having a similar thing.
about
a day ago I started feeling a strange Feeling in lower left quadrant. Feels like soreness from doing sit-ups, but only on the lower left. Also slightly feels like gas? Just moving causes the soreness, but it's not really painful, just there. I'm calling my GI as soon as the office
opens.

Since developing UC, I've become a lot more sensitive. Sometimes too this can be something a little bigger or more impactful moving through the guts. As long as it feels like things are moving shouldn't be an issue.

Sorry, I was on my phone before and didn't have time for a proper reply. Guess I should update my signature, too.
Since being diagnosed, I've not ever felt anything like this. I'm actually having fairly regular stools but flaring rectally. (Normal poo, bloody TP. yuck).
My belly also seems bloated and swollen. I'd be scared if it hurt more or if I wan't passing anything, but I'm still a bit worried. Waiting for a call back from my GI.

As long as you are passing gas and stool, you don't need to be immediately concerned. With passing stool, I found that in my transition from diarrhea to normal stool, I'd have slow-transiting semi-solid stool that diarrhea would move around. It was frustrating because I never felt totally emptied, yet the diarrhea made it seem like I was getting it all out.
I get that feeling of soreness on the left side every now and then, as though I did an ab workout or pulled a muscle. Having UC does different things to the bowel. If you are freshly out of a flare, there may be new scar tissue in there, or slight narrowing of the bowel. In other words, the bowel can be kind of mangled for a while after a flare until its normal tissue recovers. Then, if you eat a lot of food because you feel better, it leaves it a bit sore.
The feeling that "something is there" is often low level inflammation. But if you're really concerned and unsure then maybe talk to your GI. Once you find out let us know because I'm curious!

Awesome information, very practical. I actually have had a few meals that were bigger than I've been eating for a while. That very well could be part of it. I've also recently stopped drinking soda and cut nearly all sugar out of my diet, which I'd think would help me feel better, but maybe it's the bad bug's last action before dying out, haha.

It could even just be stool that you're feeling there, I sometimes get that feeling too then after a bowel movement it's gone.
