     I know what you mean about the prednisone mood swings.  I am down to 25 mgm of prednisone at the moment and we are watching our 9 yr old grandson this evening.  He is staying overnight.  I usually like to play board games with him but for some odd reason he is just getting on my nerves!!!  I have no idea why, just the prednisone at work I suppose.

That stinks.  Would he leave you if you had breast or brain cancer?  A bad heart? 

How cruel people can be.  You deserve much better.

Joylu, that's TRUE!. It's the UC that turns everyone away. The other stuff it seems people stick by you. I would if he had any of these medical crisis. UC just gets a bad rap and we can't help it.

That's why it's good that I can turn to this board and let out my feelings!

I'd rather be alone than with someone who I'd be fighting with. But, I'd probably need therapy again in order to help with some of the personal fears, anger, etc..

Dealing with chronic physical illness is difficult....add in the psychological disorders, it's difficult to even function, let alone to deal with the legal process etc.

Is your husband still in the house or has he found a place of his own?

It's unfortunate you're going through this, but I somehow suspected something was up when he insisted you start exercising to get a firmer butt.

I hope you have other support outside of this forum as well....

Quincy, you remember all the details. You make me laugh. He was just shocked to see me so thin. It actually made him cry. Yes, I have other friends, but they don't want to hear about it the way you guys are -- all ears and good advice.

So very sorry. I can tell from your posts that you are very strong; whether his leaving is permanent or he realizes what a gem he has in you and tries to work through this, I hope everything works out for you. ((Hug))

So sorry to hear this news Ellen, I can't imagine life without my husband. It must be extremely hard on you, not to mention during a flare up. I agree with AMK77, in sickness and in health. We marry for the support of our spouse when we are having a hard time. When they bail it so doesn't help the situation, just makes it worse. I will definitely be praying for you. Maybe he will change his mind. God only know. ;)

Mu hubby makes comments about me being so thin as well..but to leave i find that rather extreme..in sickness and in health ..thats really what its all about...hugs to you..chin up!

I know it has been awile since this thread was started but I had to say something.

I have had fibromyalgia since 2004 and was very recently diagnosed with colitis caused by nsaid use (part of the FM med regimen). I was put on Flagyl. I guess I would rather have increased pain then unrelenting diarrhea.

Anyway, your post really hit a nerve with me because I feel I am very near the position you are in. My husband of nearly 14 years has told me that he is having a very hard time dealing with the FM. He is going through a pretty bad bout of depression over it. Now throw UC in the mix and I'm afraid of what this will do. We are not financially strapped but because of the FM I can only work part time. I'm afraid of how I would be able to take care of myself and a 12 year-old son.

Anyway, my prayers are with you in this difficult time.

I feel very bad for you, but I hope your husband will come around. It is rough when they feel hemmed in by the sickness all around them. I don't think my husband will leave now, but he has his moments and days when he says he can't take it anymore. Since I went back on a mood stabilizer (zyprexa) it seems that HE has stabilized a bit. I think if I exhibit strength and determination with my UC, that he falls in line and respects me for wanting to take care of myself and get healthy.

Ellen, I'm so sorry... just what you don't need... another negative thing to deal with. Try to be as strong emotionally as possible. I'm new to UC and this is my first real flare and already I wonder how much of it my husband. I even asked him last night if he feels stuck with an ailed person and he joking said yes. We've only been married less than 5 years. I hope things get much better for you. Thanks for all your comments to my threads. You seem like such a good person.

I hope everything works out,I often wonder how my wife does it,its so many days she is forced to work all day come home and take care of us. We dont get out at all,I spend most of my time in bed and havent been able to work. Its gotta be hard on both,I hate the guilt that comes with being sick,its bad enough we have to suffer through the symptoms but forcing our families to suffer is rough.

Hi, I packed up my stuff and left my husband , he just looked the other way when I got sick. He said one night, I didn't want to party. I went home from a bar cuz I was sick a dn he stayed. I said f this s..., I'm out of here! I left I house we just built and found a place to rent. Sure I was scared, lonely and going nuts, but heck I didn't have deal with being more sick to my stomach around someone who didn't support me. I hope you feel better soon. Hang in there if you want to, otherwise save enough and move on, there are great people out there to live you they way you need to be loved.
