Azathioprine missed dose

Anyone ever missed a dose of azathioprine in the 1st week? I suspect I'm having a bad reaction (I've developed a terrible rash) and I'm afraid to take my next dose because I'm traveling and not near any hospitals. Will skipping a 50mg dose or two in the 1st week really screw up the drug? I'd rather push my luck back in civilization.

No. It will just take longer to build up in your system of you are not taking it.

Just confirming what bananagirl said. You can skip as many doses as you want, there are no side effects. Itll just decrease the efficacy

It takes at least 3~4 Months to buildup in your system in order for it to "start" to work, I recon a missed dose won't harm

Also - if you think you are having a bad reaction to it and its giving you a rash then you need to talk to your doctor.

It does not take 3-4 months for most to see results
It may take a long time to reach full efficacy but most start seeing results after just a couple months

I started seeing results with it after about 7 weeks
