Hello, I was diagnosed with proctitis and my doc called it "acute" lol. I have now been dealing with it for two months and no relief with Canasa. If anything, I feel the Canasa increased my tenesmus. I feel more urgency in the morning while on Canasa which I never had before taking it. It has also caused me to wake up feeling like I have to a bowel movement and I have to hold because I don't want to flush expensive medication down the toilet lol. I have no diarrhea, mucus or blood, just back pain, lower stomach and pelvic discomfort. Should I call my doc to recommend a different medication? He doesn't seem to think its a big deal since I have no major symptoms, but too me, pain is a major symptom lol. I am trying to figure out why he won't officially diagnose me with either Ulcerative or Crohns. I am not wishing to have either by any means, but at this point and lasting two months, it has to at least be considered chronic and not acute. Any thoughts on how to approach my doctor about more treatment? Also, my doc told me that my infection may have left some inflammation behind and it should heal. Has anyone heard this? With my research, proctitis is not something that just goes away for good like that.
