I'll definitely look into the calcium and vitamin D. I take a multivitamin but off the top of my head I can't come up with what's in it exactly. I go to Mississippi State, so there aren't a whole lot of options here. And I live a few hours south on the gulf. There's a digestive health center there with 6 GIs, and that's it. The next closest GI is too far away for me to go to regularly when I'm at home and I don't think there's one near my school, at least one that's any better than what I have now. My GI responds quickly when he gets the message that I called, it's the nurses and receptionists there who don't give him the message or call me back themselves for things a nurse can help me with.
I've been on humira since April, and the joint pain really started a few weeks ago. So I'm leaning more towards it's the steroid use. I just don't know what to do about that because I'm finally getting out of a flare and I really can't go back to that while I'm in the middle of the semester.
I really think I might need to up the humira dose or switch biologics, but my insurance isn't cooperative about either of those options. I'm at the point where I'll consider surgery, but there isn't a surgeon who does j pouches in my insurance network, so I really don't know what my legitimate options are there either.
