Did you have any skin condition (erythema nodosum, eczema) before you went on Remicade?
Did you develop any skin condition after starting Remicade?
Did the condition go away later?
Are people with skin condition more susceptible to getting other skin conditions? Thanks.

Thanks for the reply. My last flare started after I took an antibiotic. Got a C.Diff infection from that.
After treatment for the C. Diff, I got EN. (erythema nodosum). Skin Doc put me a "refined" prednisone.
It reduced the swelling a bit. GI put me prednisone and now I have burning sensation on both legs.
Gi wants to put me on Remicade/Imuran. As a child I had eczema. Now I am scared because Remicade
causes skin diseases. Pednisone gives me acne.

Remicade lists skin conditions as a possible side effect. Uc is an autoimmune disorder and so are psoriasis, eczema, and other skin conditions. Sometimes autoimmune disorders come in 2's and 3's.

I regret trying Remicade because of the skin issues it's caused. I started having insanely dry, flaky skin on my face (no cream or oil would help for longer than 15 mins after I applied it!) and even cracked skin in my groin area about six months after being on Remicade. Now I've been off for 2 months but still dealing with the dryness. Its frustrating and embarrassing.

I just tapered off prednisone a week ago and it's been 4 weeks since my last remicade infusion. I've noticed small raised white bumps on my arms. They are itchy and dry. I had them prior to prednisone and they always clear up while on it. So I'm guessing it's more from coming off steroids than from remicade....I hope at least.

are you talking about Keratosis Pilaris? If yes, you can go see a dermatologist and they will give you a glycolic acid sort of creme (AHA's).

I never got any skin conditions from remicade but I have never had any to begin with.

I had a lot of excema on and off It flared up a tiny bit when I was diagnosed
all the IV steroids cleared it up
but it is coming back again (i used cloderm topically as needed)

i dont think its because of the remicade becasue I have always had it

I had a surprise eczema outbreak a year ago. I thought it was either from remicade or a second autoimmune disorder. Turns out it was caused by my soap. I had bought irish spring icy blast, instead of the regular stuff. Go figure, same brand just different scent/formulation. I even tried reintroduction (after it cleared) and it reappeared. Gave that soap away for free to whomever wanted it on the work break room table. No problems since :-p

I'm on Humira (though they are basically the same med- Remi and Humira) and thankfully so far it hasn't affected my skin in bringing my horrible eczema back like it was when I was young. I was scared that it would but touch wood so far no major issues, if I have too hot of a shower I will get some tiny itchy spots right out of the shower after drying off here and there but it stops shortly after. I did have these awful itchy deep sores on my right ankle that I had for years and they would try to heal up then flare up again over many years, I even had scars from them and once the Humira kicked in it actually stopped those itchy ankle sores from flaring up and you can't hardly notice any of the scars from them either now, so I'd say Humira has actually helped that issue (I think was a mild form of pyoderma gangrenosum) I'm just thankful that I'm no longer dealing with major skin issues anymore.

I would imagine that the same side effects with both Remicade and Humira are skin issues, I know that they can bring on psoriasis which is wired since Humira is also suppose to heal plaque psoriasis....very strange.
