Hi I've been taking asacol for about
a year now, has worked well for me. I was lucky enough and saw that the asacol hd website had a savings program that was making it affordable.
Went to get my refill the other day and now the savings program is no longer active. Went to the website, and it doesn't explain much. Any idea as to what happened? The price is now $200 a month for the meds, which is a bit crazy imo & almost impossible for me to pay.
Basically I was wondering if there was any other type of help, or if anyone knew about
why the program is gone & if it will be returning.
Thanks in advance, this place has always been helpful even when I mostly just view others posts.

I see the program still in effect:

You do have to register again for 2016. You last card expired on 31-Dec-2015.

The savings card is discontinued. I actually called them and they told me they are stopping the card. I asked if they were going to offer any other discount or savings and they said not at this time. It is too expensive for me every month, so i had my doctor switch me to Lialda. They have a savings card that is only $10 a month.

Yes this has been an issue for me as well. Last year with the card I payed $0. Now it's $110. I'm going to ask my doctor about
switching to something with a discount as well.

You have other options besides Asacol hd and the others offer patient assistance copay cards.
Assistance with Cost of:
Apriso, Colazal,

copay assistance
www.aprisorx.com/apriso/savings-card
Delzicol

Lialda

Pentasa

There's also sulfasalazine, a similar generic medication. Generic medications should be much more affordable.
