OT - Meta Mucil Fibre cured my wife's IBS !

thanks to all you folks who have suggested Metamucil fibre pills, my wife has said adios to her hemmies, loosies, and panics in the park - and in less than 2 weeks !

you wanna talk miracle in a bottle - these babies are it !

I'm glad it worked for her (I used it for a long time) sadly it didn't cure my IBS though. Everyone with IBS is very individual too though so I'm happy it's helped her so much!!

@Q - thanks Heather - i think she is doing 2/day - and since IBS really isn't real, then there would in fact be no cure

@g-man - yup, she finally made a GI appt cuz things were getting a little crazy down below - the roids were killing her so when i brought up the Metamiracle, she said "sure !" when i aksed her this a.m if she was still gonna see the doc next month, she shrugged her shoulders and said, "probably not" -

it was seriously an overnite transformation - i was surprised at how quickly it had an effect on her -

Fiber in general is typically recommended to IBSers (D and/or C sufferers) so I'm not surprised it's helped her, just shocked so quickly but that's awesome!!! I'm sure it happens more often than most would think, because IBS is so individual is likely why.

I don't know if one bowel issue necessarily will always lead to another one developing but I agree it's a good idea to get things checked out by a doc...thing is, with your wife doing just fine now, there's likely no point and chances are, most GI's wouldn't bother putting her through all the GI tests especially while she's feeling good (unless of course she's of a certain age where C-scopes happen more routinely to check for cancers).

Great news Stud! I wish that was the magic bullet for all of us. Great news for your wife!!

Have you tried taking over the cooking duties? Maybe you can lace her food with grass-fed butter and get that butyrate into her system.

ya, that aint gonna happen any time soon - lacing is not possible with her - she's part bloodhound !
