Hi everyone,
I've been taking imuran + canasa combo every day for a few months now... things have been great. A few weeks ago I ran out of my canasa supply and found a few boxes of Salofalk from Universal Drug Store in Canada that I ordered back in April'2014. The boxes have the expiration date of Oct'2016 and I started using these instead since a 1 month supply of Canasa is so expensive even with my bcbs insurance ( around $900+ for 30 suppositories!).
I haven't noticed any blood / mucous lately but this week for the past few days there has been slight rectal pain. Is it possible that Salofalk isn't as effective as Canasa? Or have they just been sitting in my cupboard for too long.. they haven't been exposed to any extreme temperatures so not sure if this is the case. I thought they were basically the same thing so am a little confused. I haven't really made any major changes in my diet or anything else that could have caused these mild symptoms... let me know if you've had any similar experience with Salofalk or if you have any other recommendations. I just can't believe canasa is so expensive in the US..:(
