Diet modification may help you but it takes time to identify your problem foods/drinks. Start a daily food journal, on one side of the page write what you eat and on the other side your symptoms that day, how many trips to toilet, etc.
Common problem foods are dairy, wheat/bread products, caffeine.
Some people (like me) have multiple food/drink intolerances that may be IBS (my doc says it's UC causing it). There are many "name" IBS diets but I tried them all and my food list never matched any of them.
There are blood/breath tests for lactose intolerance and celiac (wheat allergy). I did them and it was negative for both. My gut however started healing (less bleeding, less urgency, less diarrhea) when problem foods were removed.
Do NOT start loading up on pre-made gluten-free food because some of them have ingredients equally annoying to the gut. Just eat meat and veggies and see if your symptoms get better. Homemade chicken stock is very healthy with some well cooked veggies.
Fiber is also hated by my gut so I keep that to a minimum (no uncooked veggies, no raw salad, no nuts for me).
Good luck.
PS If you have insurance that covers RX get some rectal enemas (mesalamine or steroid). These really work but are expensive. You can get mesalamine suppositories from Canada (need a doctors scrip) for 90% less than US charges.
