Do those of you (in US) have dietician coverage in outpatient setting from your insurance?
If yes what kind do you have?

I have BCBS PPO family plan thru my dad and they do not cover. Personally, I think this very shortsighted as nutritional deficiencies can cause issues later on. I know for certain that I am not eating nearly enough and I am having difficulties finding foods with the right nutrients that don't make me feel yucky.
Seeing a dietician that specializes in GI and IBD would be great. But I cannot afford to shell out a few hundred dollars to meet one.

I'm not sure but I've been told that if I get a referral for one from my digestive doctor it would. Without a referral it wouldn't.

My GI doc has a dietician affiliated with his office at no cost to us not even a copay. He is university hospital based.

I have the same thing, no copay at a University Hospital.

I went once to the dietician and she didn't really change my diet at all because I've eliminated all carbs to help with my pouchitis, she did change my probiotic.

I am at a university hospital as well but they charge to see the "GI dietician"

It would be nice if they waived that.

I have seen many nutritionists over the 30 odd years of bowel disease, all I can say is eat sensibly. The dietitians advice can be contrary because everybody's body is different there are no set rules!
However cook things well eat what you fancy and little but often no set meal times. Your body will tell you what it can take.
For myself no sugar or grains, fiber, or fresh fruit does the trick, this may not work for you, you just have to find out for yourself good luck!

I saw a nutritionist in September and (thankfully) didn't get a bill. I have United Healthcare, but it's through my work. However, I have diabetes so I don't know if it was covered because of that. I'm sorry, I wish I could be more helpful!
