Travelling suggestions

I'm looking to go on a trip, and want to go to a place where it would be a safe diet, most of the people speak english, and isn't too far of a flight! I'm from Canada. I was thinking Panama, Costa Rica, or Turkey. Anyone been to these places? It is alright for someone with UC? My main diet when I travel would be chicken and rice to stay safe.

Costa Rica is pretty and very warm this time of year which is now their dry season. I was in the Guanacaste province about a month ago for a week-long vacation at a beach resort. Most there know English, but Spanish is the predominant language and I did encounter a few who didn't know English well.

What you eat is entirely up to you, if you're going to prepare your own meals while abroad. We all tend to eat differently while traveling and away, same goes for drinking. Kind of gravitate to junk. At least I do lol. My uc behaved fairly well, despite my ignorance of it.

Panama is beautiful! Peety gave great advice :) Be sure to always wash your hands, I used bottled water to be on the safe side. I'm a bit paranoid tho :)

I agree with the other poster, it is the food handlers that will make you sick. I live in Costa Rica and even before I got sick with UC I rarely ate out, because the level of hygiene is horrendous, my husband and daughter have had food poisoning just this last week from something they ate when out. It is quite bad, but I think if you are very careful you should be okay, always visit the bathroom before eating anywhere because if that is bad imagine what the kitchen looks like!! There is so much to see in CR that you won't regret visiting, and the people tend to just speak Spanish, but that should not stop you from having fun.

We just got back from Dublin, Ireland and I can't speak highly enough. What a beautiful place! So many excellent restaurants of every variety. Of course they speak English too, but they do drive on the wrong side of the road. There are nonstop flights on AA from PHL is time of year, from JFK a little later in spring. Their winter btw is about 40 degrees.
It's very easy to find good for UC food in and around Dublin so no worries there.
It's not of the sunny and hot beach climate like Costa Rica, but the variety of things to do and see really makes it a favored location for my family and I.
