Cortenemas

The latest cortenemas I got were a much thicker plastic than before and I am having a hard time getting all the med out. Any suggestions? No matter what I do I am still finding liquid left in the bottle.

Second question, I know the enemas are safer than oral steroids because it's mostly topical but some does get absorbed into the body. Does anyone know what the absorption via an enema would equate to in an oral dosage?

I find that if the bottle has been warned it helps. I had a different batch once with really stiff bottles and no air lock. I called my pharmacy and told them they were very hard to use and they don't get that brand anymore.

It takes a while before the steroid enemas have a cumulative effect. So I wouldn't worry about that. Most times the steroid enemas are given in short bursts of 4-6 weeks and either stopped completely or weaned (I recommend weaning). And the MG absorption is so low compared to oral.

In the past I was on rectal steroids for almost a year and I found that just running it under warm water helped loosen up the plastic that it made it much easier to use. I also made sure to squeeze all the air out before inserting.
