Fever of 100 of colonoscopy?!j

So I just got home from a scope and now My temp is 100.8...Is this normal? Also my doctor told my mom (I was still asleep) that from the naked eye my colon looked great? But then what would be causing the increased frequency, blood streaks, and thin stools? Will biopsie results clear that up?

i wouldn't worry about the temp - could be anything - just the stress of the prep cleanout, the scope itself, or just the increased (although minor) symptoms -

not sure why he would scope you again before trying to increase your meds - seems a little premature in my thinking - but too late now wink

so what is the plan going forward ?

Thanks! We have to wait till the biopsies come back and then he will suggest what to do depending on that :) I'm not mad he had me scoped though because I was having days of going 10 times in comparison to once but course it got alittle better following me telling them that. I tried hydrocortisone enemas and then Rowasa for 2 months and nothing helped. Do you think they might just end up suggesting increasing asacol dose?

It depends what your doctor saw and the biopsy results. Mild inflammation might result in 4,800 mgs daily asacol and nightly rowasa. If you were much worse, then corticosteroids (like prednisone) or stronger medications might be discussed. If no inflammation was seen, then IBS would likely be cited.

Hopefully your fever is gone. If you still have one today, I would put in a call to your doctor just to be on the safe side.

It's not gone :( but it hasn't gone up yea Im going to call and ask to make sure

A doctor's opinion of a colon looking great doesn't necessarily mean that your colon is perfect....all about semantics. It could mean not worse or not severe or just mild inflammation.

You have a fever, and it's continual. Best to call the gi's office and tell them. 100 isnt a nothing thing....but it could be you are fighting something. It's good it's not increasing. For me, 98 is a fever.

How are your bms today? I would suggest that if they haven't improved by a few days that you ask the gi for a stool sample kit.

The biopsy results should tell a different story than the gi's words....please make sure you get a copy of the results.

Biopsies came back normal... so i have no idea why theres any blood!
