Post colonoscopy issues

about 2 days ago, I had a routine colonoscopy done. I had clean results, except for a polyp, which the GI removed. My symptoms were 5-6 BMs per day, yellow loose stools, occassional mucus. Almost no pain. Post colonoscopy, my symptoms have become more unstable, to around the same number of BMs, yellowish stools, but now I have a gurgling abdomen, urgent BMs, i feel constantly bloated (never felt bloated before the scope), mildish lower abdominal pain when bending over and high fiber foods run through me (when they previously binded me up).

Why have my bowel habits changed post colonoscopy? I've had scopes done before without issue. I am hoping i return to my normal soon.

Too soon to tell if it's temporary or something to be concerned about (infection, loss of good bacteria due to clean out, etc).

Urgency would make me use mesalamine enema nightly.
Yellow stools before and after would be concerning to me unless that's "normal" for you.
Bloating can be loss of good gut bacteria and increase in non-good guys. When this happens to me I have several options to knock the bad guys back/down but clay water is my go-to. If that doesn't work then I move up to stronger supplement like oil of oregano.

If you get worse requesting a stool test is a good idea. Maybe the bad bact. was there before scope and opportunistically increased. I would not get an RX for antibiotics unless there is a real reason to (i.e. positive stool test).

you are pumped full of gas during the scope. some of that may be still working out. you were cleaned out for the scope and some of the track may be filling back up, with different than already full sounds. if the prep was harsh, your gut microbes may be a bit out of balance (even more than usual), also the air put in during scoping may have killed off a lot of the aerobic microbes.

eat gentle foods for a few days, take some probiotics, and try not to worry about every gurgle - especially 48hr after being emptied out pumped with air and scopped.

if things are still rough in a week, review the matter again

Thanks for the replies. I get cramping too when eating and have to use the bathroom after eating. Never had this before the colonoscopy.
