I have been feeling kind of yucky for the last few weeks but haven't seen blood except once or twice on surface or TP. Sometimes the actual stool might have blood tinged so not sure if that's blood.
But today I had blood meshed into the poop
It looked kind of different
It was dark red but not maroon and it was in squiggles at the top part of the stool.
I have not been eating much or any residue for the past week or so so not sure if it's from scraping.
Is it possible that I have painless internal hemmies that make such a pattern?

Anyone experience this?

Scraping or not...the fact that your tissue is fragile enough to bleed is more the issue. And yes, that would mean flaring. Unless you have a solitary ulcer or polyp or diverticula that's bleeding or isolated area in the sigmoid or a hemmie....

How often are you having bms? and what's the consistency.

When you see your doc on Monday, please request he take a look-see with a rectoscope that can get into the sigmoid at the most.

Ask him for rectal meds for sure.

If I remember correctly weren't you having issues this past 4-6 weeks and you weren't sure if the Remicade was working for you?

My flares always started with a little bit of blood and narrowing, then they rapidly got worse.

Yup the look-see or recto scope is a good idea
I am going to ask them to test remicade levels for right before my next infusion

If remicade stops working for me I might consider enrolling in a clinical trial.
The only ways we can get new drugs are if people go into trial

I'd wait and see if it happens again. I know we're often hyper-tuned into what we see within the bowl after a bm, but this can also lead to false alarms. Darker reds are from either food residue or something bleeding higher up in the large intestine. Hemorrhoids only produce bright, bright red (as they're inches from the sphincter so that blood is very fresh).

Any signs of increased mucus, or looser, increased , or more urgent bms? It's often the most accurate to say several things have changed for the worse and not just one.

Well my bleeding that sits in the rectum then comes out mixed with mucus can be considered dark red.

I think that foodstuff is a possibility if its tomato based, carrots, beets, etc red....but if you dont eat those foods, its not obviously.

Hi Dikid!

It sounds like this could be the start of a flare, but it's great that you have an appointment coming up to discuss it either way. Are you having urgency with the blood? Sending good thoughts! Maybe you just need to add some rectal meds.

I forsure agree about waiting and seeing because a few bad BMs isn't much to worry bout. I will wait until the appointment on Monday to say anything.



I am pretty sure it's blood not food because on the tissue it was red also

There is some mucous but I have had that pretty consistently for a while so not too concerned bout that.
Some of my stools have been loose and some are formed
